In 2021, Black History Month Belgium revolves around the creation of a Black community-driven and controlled archive with material related to the Black diaspora in Belgium. As part of this project, Graciela Dutrieue (Master student in Gender and Diversity) works on drawing up a mapping of Black womxn and feminist networks in the Brussels-Capital Region. Follow the process here every Monday in March through her vlogs.
Watch Graciela's talks (in Dutch) with anthropologist Stephanie Collingwoode Williams and event - art and community building organisation For All Queens on archiving material that represents the Black experience in Belgium from the Black perspective in this week’s video blog.
The project is a collaboration between Black History Month Belgium, VUB Crosstalks, RoSa asbl, the Archive and Research Centre for Women’s History and Graciela Dutrieue.
